The Missionary Congregation of the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary (MCESM) are a Catholic missionary congregation of women religious dedicated to spreading the Gospel, serving humanity, and witnessing to Christ’s love through their lives and ministries.
They began as an African-founded congregation with the purpose of empowering African women to take an active role in evangelization and missionary work both within Africa and beyond.
The Congregation has since grown internationally and is now a Pontifical Institute, meaning they are officially recognized and approved by the Vatican to serve universally in the Church.
Our Founders were Bishop Sisto Mazzoldi and Fr. John Marengoni of happy memory both were Comboni missionaries from Italy
Their charism (spiritual gift) is to evangelize, to bring Christ to all people through word, witness, and service.
To see a world transformed by the love of Christ, where every person experiences dignity, hope, and fullness of life.
